Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Let’s break down this quote, hotties, and relate it to the menopause.
Insanity: Let’s be honest ladies – the menopause is enough to drive any woman insane. Let’s face facts: we have absolutely no control whatsoever over what is happening to our bodies and minds. It begs the question: have aliens taken over our bodies? Because it sure feels like it. The body you once knew so well is now behaving in the most bizarre manner as it tries to navigate an onslaught of symptoms that range from “ooh, this feels weird” to total and utter bat$hit-crazy levels of pain, discomfort and “what the f*ck is happening to me?”
Add to this the brain fog, stress and anxiety and you have well and truly arrived at the doorway to insanity!
Knock, knock…f*ck off!
Well, no one could accuse menopause of doing the same thing over and over again. One thing is for certain: no two women have the same experience. Menopause is erratic, unpredictable, ever-changing, unsteady, unsettled, irregular, and inconsistent. We could go on and on and on, but I think you get the picture – we all experience different symptoms on different levels, at different times throughout our menopause journey. In fact, menopause is so unpredictable that what we personally experience alters from day to day, month to month, and year to year. What symptoms our bodies go through one month may go missing in action for the foreseeable future, never to return; OR, they could rear their ugly heads further down the road when you least bloody expect it!
Expecting different results: Well that part of the quote definitely rings a bell for us hotties – ding dong, menopause calling! And one thing we can absolutely guarantee is that every single woman is going to have a completely different and unique experience with their own personal menopause journey. No one size fits all; unfortunately, help and advice can often be confusing, conflicting, outdated and frustrating due to the undeniable fact that menopause symptoms are deeply individual, ranging from barely noticeable (lucky f*ckers) to severe (those poor barstuds who drew the short straw!), covering a plethora of physical, emotional and cognitive changes and challenges.
To sum up hotties, menopause can be an insane experience. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel and it is an experience that will eventually end. We will get through it ladies, so hang in there and have a little faith. The good times will return and this $hitshow will become a distant memory.
