Can You believe it, but we are at the end of our menopausal, alphabetical ABC journey as it’s the turn of the letters Y & Z.
Our Y & Z focuses on You & Zen. Fear not hotties, this isn’t the end of ‘us’ though, as next month we will be revealing our very own hottie playlist (not literally, but as they say, there is a song for every occasion).
Yes it’s time to kick those heels 👠 off, step away from the Zoom meeting, relax and enjoy just being You.
Ok, so maybe that’s easy to say and hard to do right? Of course, it’s not only as women, but as ‘hottie women’ in the midst of all this menopausal shape-shifting, transformational chaos that adds extra pressure.
Relaxation, time out and some You-time seems to be the lowest on your list of priorities, if they’re on your list at all. “No $hit Sherlock” is a term we’ve used many times around here, and I couldn’t resist using it for one last time on our ABC journey. Sorry, not sorry...
So then, my dear Dr Watson - note to self: I seriously need to get out of this Sherlock character!! - what do you suggest us Yummy hotties do to prioritise our wellbeing and super charge our Zesty selves to Zap away any of that guilt we might feel?
Here’s a few tips you can do Yourself, that will soon have you Zip wiring your way at warp speed to a more Zen version of the wonderful hottie that You are.
You matter, don’t be an afterthought in Your own life. Factor in some You time each and every day.
A little bit of what You fancy does you good. Hell Yeah. Go guilt free once in a while! Crack open that yummy Zinfandel or the full fat Yogurt you high rolling rebel! Indulge yourself, you deserve it!
Make a date. With Yourself. Guests entirely optional. What would you love to do? What would your perfect date look like? A walk in nature? A fabulous meal? Whatever it is, plan your ideal date and invite yourself.
Find your happy place. This is your place; your happiness recharge place. Having a soak in the bath with your favourite oils, or your special chair catching up with a good magazine or novel. Watching back-to-back episodes of your favourite TV progs on catch up. Maybe even a trip to the gym (did I really say that?!) - each to their own...
But most of all, remember to breathe. Breathe deeply. 🧘♀️ Mindfulness is a relatively easy and great way to simply ‘catch your thoughts’, especially those negative, counter-productive ones which can yank us into despair if we’re not careful.
Meditation apps or a little music can work just as well, to really flex those Zen muscles, and can help you sort out the wheat from the chaff, to get your Yin and your Yang in sync.
Ultimately, whatever works for you, hottie is right. Zip Zap and Zoom your way to the top of your own priority list.
We are at the absolute Zenith of our femininity, even if it doesn’t always feel that way, as we marvel at and embrace the Zig-zagging changes our bodies and minds are going through at this stage of our lives.
And if your spirits ever need a boost, please remember the tale of the caterpillar’s transformation into a butterfly.
“People talk about caterpillars becoming butterflies as though they just go into a cocoon, slap on their wings, and are good to go.

Thank you so much for keeping me company on our menopausal march through the alphabet. I don’t know about you, but just about every day has been a school day, as we’ve surfed the hormonal waves of womanhood!
