In The Spotlight - Danni Watts-Jones: DWJ Wealth Management
Welcome to In The Spotlight
Do you have an amazing business to showcase, or an incredible story to tell?
This month emmaheaven.com is shining the spotlight on...
This month I’d like to introduce you to Danni Watts-Jones, the Managing Director at DWJ Wealth Management, based in Baglan, South Wales.
Danni and her team pride themselves on putting their clients at the heart of everything they do. With nearly 30 years experience and a strong track record in the financial/banking industry, you and your hard earned money are in safe hands, with sound, practical, realistic advice never far away at the end of a phone, email or Zoom call.
Danni and her team at DWJ Wealth Management are friendly, approachable and professional, and will put you at ease, and won’t overwhelm you with financial jargon, well not unless you want them to!
Her achievements have been acknowledged and recognised in many prestigious industry awards in London and closer to home in South Wales where Danni was born and bred. Her biggest achievement was being recognised as a leading financial adviser in Wales.
When she’s not number crunching on spreadsheets or advising clients on pensions, savings, mortgages or investments, Danni is an enthusiastic and energetic fundraiser for St James Place Foundation, Maggie’s, Paul Popham Foundation amongst many more, helping those who need it most and helping to make a difference to people’s lives. Her energy, drive and enthusiasm are commendable!
I’ll hand you over to Danni to tell you some more, in her own words:
“We know that family is the most important thing in your life. So, it is good to know that, with the right advice and planning, providing for our loved ones can be straightforward, and not only for the good times.
~ Financial planning & wealth management services
Not just for the wealthy ~
Our services include giving you advice and arranging a mortgage for buying your first home, right through to pension planning, or long-term care for your family members if they are unable to continue living independently in their own home.
We can help you during difficult times in your life, whether it is divorce, debt, or bereavement.
We also work with companies and financial wellbeing in the workplace and help businesses of all sizes to thrive and survive.
Besides the ‘day job’, with a teenage son, a husband, and the latest addition to our family - an energetic puppy called Harri - I am certainly kept on my toes! I am a keen fundraiser for several local charities, and have on occasions been approached by BBC and ITV Wales media to comment and contribute on high profile news issues such as Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI), Tata Steel, the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s Budget announcements, etc.
For anyone out there seriously considering a career in this industry, I would encourage you to go for it. I have a diverse work/life balance, positively demonstrating and busting the myth that it’s a ‘grey suits’ industry.
Pre-lockdown, I regularly attended workshops and seminars in schools and universities etc, to give talks about how the industry can attract and retain females who wish to successfully work and have a career, in what has historically and predominantly, been a male environment. Even before the pandemic lockdown started, we encouraged our staff to work remotely/flexibly.
Thanks to flexible/remote working, I have been able to retain the valuable knowledge and experience of a long standing employee who asked to reduce their hours to accommodate their changing circumstances.
I was asked to describe myself by Emma, but I am not going to. Instead, I am going to leave it to a couple of client testimonials to do the talking on my behalf! Everyone in my office laughed and nodded when one of my favourite clients described me as a true professional in the following terms, because they say that every word is true.
“Danni is friendly, approachable, thorough and whip smart. DWJ has the warmth of a favourite aunt, with a mind like a bacon slicer”.
My client went on to say that my team are like her personal Avengers, and that is what I aim to be.
“Big enough to get the job done, and small enough to know all your client’s names.”
In the last 4 or 5 years, since branching out on my own, my practice has steadily grown from small acorns; we’ve grown from a team of 3 to a team of 7. With a Paraplanner and Advisor, three Partner Support Staff members (Practice Manager/Financial Administrators) and a Mortgage Advisor, we at DWJ Wealth Management have a wide range and wealth of expertise to call upon, with a combined service of over 100 years specialising in financial advice, for you and your family.
~ It’s never too late to start ~
My job is not just to manage my client’s wealth, or lack of, it is to manage all the emotions and stresses that go hand in hand with money management.
Many of you may fear finances and I am sure there are occasions when you come out in hives thinking about financial matters! I see it as my job to take that strain and make your wealth creation a pleasure and a ride we can share together.
Our clients are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to building and sustaining long-term client relationships based on trust, superior service, and the quality of our advice.
Our goal and philosophy is simple: to ensure financial peace of mind for you and your family across the generations.
Remember - you’re never too young or too old to become financially savvy.”
