**She Hides Beneath The Rose**

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is one of my favourite books. The story is rather provocative and quite controversial. And it really has you questioning everything you thought you knew about the legend of the Holy Grail!

The book was adapted into a feature film starring the fabulous Tom Hanks; and for once, the movie lived up to my high expectations as I immersed myself in this intriguing story... I was on a personal ‘Grail Quest’...

There is a famous line in the film: “it hides beneath the rose”. ’It’ being the secret location of the Holy Grail. That one line evokes such an air of mystery about it - a secret waiting to be discovered - that it became the inspiration behind this month’s shoot.

What would be hiding beneath our rose?

In a nutshell. Me!

And what secret did I have to unveil?

Well that's another story and another photoshoot for another day!!

With the idea firmly planted, I began my own quest, in search of the perfect rose headdress.
It needed to be big, bold, beautiful and blood red.

Once that mission was achieved, the mood board quickly came to life. Beth would create a look made up of various shades of green and brown, painting rose stems and leaves winding up my face, to create the illusion of peeking through the foliage, and hiding beneath the rose...
