“Fashion shouldn’t be taken too seriously. You’ve got to have fun with it to make it work!
Think of all the endless possibilities of what you can create. Let your imagination run riot. Have fun, glam up - Love it! Rock it! Own it!"
**Blood Red Roses**
The inspiration for this shoot began while I was browsing Etsy and stumbled upon EvaJobkoDesigner and her shop full of extraordinary headpieces.
One in particular caught my eye. A full hat crammed with peonies, gillyflower, hydrangeas, red and maroon feathers and of course, red roses.
Swiftly added to shopping cart, planning for the shoot began in earnest, as I waited for this claret creation to arrive.
The music for the shoot is Kiss From A Rose by Seal, which featured in the Batman Forever movie - this conjured up feelings of darkness and mystery, and so the shoot began to take shape.
Beth created a Batman-esque mask with glittering stars and matching dark, dangerous lips. For added drama, I wore a jet black curly wig. And with a final florid flourish, a delighted Beth got busy, cascading (fake) blood down the sides of my face and neck.
As an extra special personal touch, for this video we have the super talented singer Martin Broad singing for us.
“And now we invite you backstage to see this month’s shoot: Blood Red Roses.”
