The ƎH Awards 2019

If you cast your mind all the way back to June 2017, when we launched our first ever ƎH Awards night.

It seemed fitting to ask you, our readers, what you liked most about the magazine.

We wanted to know your favourite features, columnist, along with your favourite photo shoot and video.

We just wanted to know what was your favourite EVERYTHING!!

We wanted to make this an annual event. And the previous years awards were such a blast, that we wanted to do it all over again! We can’t decide which bit we enjoy the most - the lights, the lipstick, the glamour, the goody bags…The cake(s)...

Voting went live in the April 2019 Issue, with 5 different categories/features, spanning the Issues from May 2018 to April 2019. Voting closed in July.

Votes were counted, verified and sealed in secret envelopes, ready to be opened and revealed at The ƎH Awards night, held at the Mercure Swansea Hotel on Saturday 27th July.

The glamorous guestlist included the nominees, their partners, and our ever so eclectic #TeamHeaven.

With a theme of ‘Proud’, a FULL party programme and a dress code to: ‘Strut Your Stuff & Be Proud As A Peacock’, the stage was set.

Cue press boards and red carpet to greet the glitterati!

Once they had their ƎH Awards photos taken - with zero encouragement - guests headed to the bar for a pre-dinner drink or two, before moving on to the main room, for the main event. Showtime!

The room shimmered and sparkled, echoing our dapper guests’ attire.

This magical golden spectacle was brought to life by ‘Designs By Mo’ - tables and chairs were elegantly dressed with shimmering balloons with twinkling lights and golden bows.

Balloon towers made of golden orbs provided the perfect backdrop to the stage, which would be the focal point that evening. Thank you Maureen and your immensely talented team.

A huge thank you to the team at Mercure Swansea Hotel for the delicious food, impeccable service, and for helping me host a truly wonderful night. It went without a hitch!

The tables were decorated with thousands of stars and scatter crystals, with each guest receiving an ƎH mug, filled with treats, which they were encouraged to use for shameless plugging on Social Media!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who voted. It was great to see which features were your favourites. The feedback has been invaluable.

Well done to all our nominees and a special well done to all our winners.

It was a thrill to see all of #TeamHeaven being rewarded for their hard work and dedication to the magazine. They so deserve it! I am so very proud of each and everyone of them.

With the awards over, it was time to party. The DJ was incredible with his choice of dancefloor fillers, which kept us entertained and dancing until the wee small hours of the morning!

And a special shout out to my wonderful guests who made it a night to remember:

“You partied proud and you partied loud!”

 

I want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined me in celebrating the magazine’s fourth birthday, and our third awards night, and to everyone involved in bringing this amazing event together.

It really was one of the greatest evenings of my life. On that note, I shall leave you with a small montage of the evening.
