**Graffiti**

graffiti headline photoCan you believe how just one pair of shoes inspired a whole shoot?

Well that’s exactly what happened when I let my nieces, Christie and Shannon loose on my wardrobe. We were looking for inspiration when they discovered a pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots sitting forlornly on the shelf, just begging for their moment in the spotlight so they could shine. And shine they did!

I looked at the graffiti-covered boots and thought “How amazing would it be if I was covered in graffiti?” All in the name of fashion and art though!

The idea kept evolving, until...

I wanted to have paint thrown at me tastefully and artfully - this was NOT an opportunity for #teamheaven to get revenge by paintballing me to within an inch of my life! Then I got to thinking... how about we use ultraviolet (UV) paint and do the whole shoot under UV lights? AND then, how about throwing in some strobe lights into the mix too?

WOW! Things had really ramped up and just got really interesting! And not just for me. The whole team fell in love with the idea (or was it the prospect of splattering me?! Hmmmm....). This was a chance to get uber creative and have a whole load of messy fun along the way.

This shoot’s outfit choice was easy. Black. I just needed to be dressed in black.

BootsNow hindsight is a wondrous thing; and it was only as I was lying on the floor being splattered with paint, dressed in Alexander McQueen did I think - oops - probably not your best idea Emma! All the while silently praying the paint would come off at the dry cleaners!

I could have worn any black outfit, as it was pretty irrelevant under the UV lights; but at least I knew I was dressed in my best however impractical that was. Once a fashionista, always a fashionista!

So as I lay there in my Alexander McQueen and Jeffrey Campbell boots, with Jenna and Hilary standing over me, laughing as they flicked yet more paint over me, and looking like something out of Avatar, I remember thinking “Can our shoots get any more bonkers than they already are?”

And the answer to that is - a resounding yes! There is no limit to our creativity as the ideas keep on getting bigger, more elaborate, more daring, more decadent, more outrageous and even more fun for #teamheaven to produce, photograph and film.

Rebecca ClarkHi you lovelies!

How much fun does this photo shoot look!?

When Emma briefed me about this month’s graffiti/neon theme, I had a brief moment of mild panic but swiftly followed by excitement. Like who doesn't love a bit of neon!?

A couple of days before Emma’s appointment, I thought I'd better have a practice run with nail splatting... I must admit it didn't go as well as I'd hoped, then... lightbulb moment... you cannot perfect mess! So let's get creative and wing this sh*t!

After shaping and base coating Emma's nails, I painted on two coats of Shellac’s 'Blackpool'.
Then the messy fun began!... with gloves and gowns on to protect our finest I got cracking with the splatting.

All it took was a long, thin, nail art brush, dipping it in one colour at a time and flicking it over the nail (and hand to add extra effect :)

It went EVERYwhere. But I loved it! Probably the most fun set of nails I have ever done.

I finished by top coating with clear Shellac to protect the magnificent colours.

Move over Picasso... I am ready for the next challenge!

Here is how Hilary created that, mad, bad hair.

Ola,Hilary

This month we used a new gizmo from Babyliss. A Root Boost Micro Crimper.

I crimped the roots of Emma’s hair which substituted backcombing it for volume.

I straightened the mid-length and ends, placing a zig-zag headband at the front of Emma’s hair and brushed all the length forward.

Now it was ready for me to unleash the UV paint on it. And unleash the paint I did!

This has to be the MOST fun I have ever had on a shoot and not once did I tire of splattering Emma with even more paint!

Thank you Hilary for creating such a wicked hairstyle and thanks for the almost indecent levels of enthusiasm you showed whilst splattering me with paint!

Here’s how Jenna interpreted this month’s look.

**Jenna Kelly**

JennaI actually don't know where to start with this month’s column!

When Emma told me the theme was graffiti I had absolutely no idea what to expect. Although we all know that she never ceases to surprise us.

So glam-wise there's not really much to say other than I gave Emma a super simple base of foundation, mascara, brows and blush... With the beauty basics in place, we had a perfect canvas to work on.

THEN the fun began!

Emma stood there, dressed head to toe in designer labels whilst we ever so artfully threw UV paint all over her face, hair and arms! At one point in the shoot, Emma was lying on the floor with me straddled over her!

It sounds ridiculous... and it was. But OMG, the end results looked AMAZING!!!!

We used different UV lipsticks in insanely bright colours, splattered and striped paint to make her into an Avatar-inspired tribal woman! The strobe lights were crazy - the paint shone so brightly, yet when Emma stepped into natural daylight, it pretty much disappeared! Nuts!

We had so much fun during this shoot - it was so impromptu, creative and crazy! I can't wait to see how the final issue turns out... I know the images are strikingly amazing!

Thank you Jenna for creating this neon-tastic look. I can still see the look of glee on your face as you picked up the brush to launch the paint at my face!

Thank you to everyone on #teamheaven involved in the making of this issue’s video.
Your creativity and commitment never ceases to amaze me!

This shoot was loud, fun, messy and utterly bonkers. Don’t try this at home folks, unless you have lots of plastic sheeting or want your interior design to have that ‘avant garde’ look! It felt like we were at our own personal rave with the music blaring and the lights flashing. Pffft! Who needs Ibiza?!

The music for this issue’s shoot is rather apt - scream - louder - SCREAM!

Enjoy...

Don’t be a stranger...
