Welcome to Issue 124 ~ January/February 2026: Phoenix.

As I finally flip the bird to 2025 ~ which turned out to be the most challenging year of my life ~ I could, quite easily, throw myself a pity party. Watch my world descend into a pit of life-leaching misery and destructive despair, devoid of any hope and happiness. Or, I can rise like a Phoenix from the ashes!

A Phoenix rising symbolises renewal, rebirth and overcoming destruction ~ emerging stronger from devastation ~ this magnificent mythical bird being reborn from its very own ashes!

It represents hope, resilience and transformation after suffering hardship. It signifies new beginnings ~ an opportunity to leave the past where it belongs: behind us!!

I’m definitely not the same person I used to be ~ I’ve accepted that ~ made my peace with it. And that’s ok. I may miss the old version of me, but now it’s time to discover the new version ~ and embrace it. I may feel scared and unsure of where I’m headed ~ it’s scary to feel lost ~ yet it’s also exciting to discover a whole new me and explore what else I’m capable of.

Pain changes you, but it doesn’t have to break or destroy you. Like the Phoenix, you have extraordinary powers to rise stronger and wiser than ever before.

This is the beginning ~ believe in yourself ~ shake those beautiful feathers ~ take flight ~  now rise like a Phoenix!

Or as one of our Hotties likes to call it: something to save us from the swampy cycle of “Eat, sleep, rage/rave, repeat”! Perhaps it’s time we look to the letter ‘K’ for inspiration. And no. We don’t mean them, heaven forbid! #IYKYK ;-)
