Hats2Go - Bespoke Designer Millinery By Marie-Anne
My Name is Marie-Anne Talbott, I live in a sleepy seaside town in Seaton Devon, and I am the proud owner of Hats2go Bespoke Millinery by Marie-Anne.
I have been trading for 12 years after giving up full time employment when my daughter was born, as I did not want to miss a day of her growing up; therefore, working from home was the perfect opportunity to pursue not only my millinery hobby, but to see my daughter grow up. This was also the plan for when my son entered the world six years ago.
My clients are worldwide thanks to the power and reach of the internet and social media; however, closer to home, I offer an appointment-based diary where the client can come to my home studio where they can discuss their requirements, try on designs in a relaxed atmosphere with one-to-one service.
I have loved the last 12 years and hope to continue doing the job I love for many more years to come. I design millinery for any occasion but my passion lies with giant flowers and mechanical moving millinery designs, to make that ‘wow’ statement.
I have just completed my first winter range of wool/felt lady’s hats and I am finalising my first range of men’s hats, ready to be unveiled this month [January 2021].
I am currently working on new projects, including designing and creating steampunk top hats for both ladies and gentlemen, and I am always working on new designs for Royal Ascot which I will showcase this year on the opening day.
I have had several of my designs travel far and wide since starting out including being worn by models for fashion shows/photoshoots, Burlesque Dancers, Easter Parades, Race meetings in the USA, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Australia and an important British Wedding, not to mention Emma creating a whole shoot around one of my designs for her Tainted Love issue in April 2018, which is where our paths first crossed.
My hope for the future is that my business will continue to grow and offer more unique designs to my clients.
