In The Spotlight - Angie Barnett & Wendy Thomas

Welcome to In The Spotlight

Do you have an amazing business to showcase, or an incredible story to tell?

This month emmaheaven.com is shining the spotlight on...

Angie Barnett & Wendy Thomas

As the magazine continues to grow, we have reached a point where we need people in key positions to take it to the next level.

I have always handpicked everyone who is involved in the magazine, and this latest development is no exception.

The first position needing to be filled was Press & Media Enquiries.

I approached our resident psychic medium, Angie Barnett, as I knew this had been her career for many years in the USA, until she returned home to Wales to pursue her passion as a psychic medium.

After talking to her, it became apparent within a short space of time that, not only was she the right person for the job, but she would also do everything within her power to take the magazine to the next level.

Her passion for the magazine is overwhelming and I am extremely proud to have her part of the corporate side of the business. I look forward to seeing her excel in her new position.

Angie is extremely disciplined, focused on achieving and exceeding above and beyond business goals, with a dynamic ability to develop and deliver creative strategies whilst building and maintaining strong business relationships worldwide.

“I feel honoured and excited to be given the opportunity as Head of Creative Development. The magazine is not only a personal passion of mine, but a very strong career goal. I believe the team we have in place are extremely experienced, passionate and hungry to take ‘Emma Heaven, The Ultimate Online Magazine for Entertainment and Inspiration’ to great heights.”

The second position which needed filling was Sales & Marketing.

And for this position there was only one person in mind. The legend that is Wendy Thomas.

Wendy is one of those people for whom selling comes naturally.

I once remember popping into my local supermarket and saw Wendy on an in-store promotions stand. I only went over to say a quick hello, and ended up walking away with a coffee machine and a lifetime’s supply of coffee pods! I wouldn’t have minded, but I already had three machines at home! This is just the kind of person I wanted to head up our sales and marketing division and develop our Business Showcase.

“When Emma offered me this amazing opportunity, it took a while for me to believe in myself.

Could I do this?
Am I the right person for the job?
Am I good enough?

Thankfully I have been blessed with a very close bond to my children, my family and friends. They are so proud of me, encouraging me that I am the right person; that I can do it, and that this job has my name written all over it.

I do love the challenge of a sale. I also have to believe in that product and I will give it my 100% complete attention and dedication.

To this day, I'm still greeted by the name ‘Wendy Ann Summers’, because that's how most of the women in the South Wales area know me. I worked with Ann Summers for over 20 years, winning many top sales prizes along the way including a Caribbean holiday, numerous other holidays around the world, cars, electrical goods, vouchers etc. However, that was many years ago and in another lifetime!

So a new challenge and an exciting time is ahead of me. I cannot wait to help Emma achieve even more success with the UK’s fastest growing online magazine.

To sum up, I am motivated, excited and so very much up for this challenge. If anyone sees me out and about, and wants to help me toast this new chapter of my life, mine’s a gin and soda!”

At the risk of blowing my own trumpet, I believe I have made the perfect decision with these new positions. The future looks exciting and both ladies bring boundless enthusiasm, knowledge, passion, determination and their ‘A’ game to the table.

Look out world - there’s a new team in town. Onwards and upwards, only the sky and our imagination are our limits!
