This month emmaheaven.com is shining the spotlight on...

The Hyst

headline photo

The ultimate venue in Swansea for holding parties, live entertainment (concerts, musicals), life celebrations, soirées, weddings and the home from home of The LWA.

Since the launch of emmaheaven.com, The Hyst has gone through a scenic and complex journey to discover its true identity. We can confidently say it is a ‘must-visit’ quirky, original and unique destination. It provides the whole package for any event which needs celebrating, launching or showing off!

Owner, Danny Evans, shares with us the latest news and developments about this eclectic venue.

“The idea to develop The Hyst was born out of numerous requests for private hire of the venue. We were running the place as a restaurant and, although it was successful, more and more people were asking to privately book the space. This led to the thinking that there was actually a huge demand and an obvious gap in the market for private hire. So with that in mind, we remodelled the place, and totally gutted the building, creating more space with an enhanced layout, to provide a wide range of facilities which people wanted.

The focal point is a huge corner stage, and a feature bar, with quirky furniture and decor which give the venue its unique, eclectic feel.

photo 1We have a professional [public address] PA system and TV cameras which allows for events to be filmed or streamed. There are screens around the venue which add an extra interactive dimension to events, such as a display of slideshows and photos. It adds the personal touch, making a party even more special.

When people book The Hyst, they don’t want for anything, as we have all bases covered; and if we don’t have what they want, we will source it. Whatever the event, whether it’s an engagement party, birthday party, concert, show, brand launch, life celebration or a TV show like The LWA, you can easily host it at The Hyst and you won’t be disappointed. Everything you need will be on hand to ensure the best possible event.

Another update is our food menu, which, like The Hyst itself, is a little eclectic. It offers all the classics such as lasagne, chilli, curries and burgers - your comfort foods, we’ve got all those covered in spades!

We also offer an excellent range of vegan and vegetarian meals. Plus we have Buddha bowls that consist of a base of salads, rice, dips etc which you choose; and you then add your toppings, whether that be meat, vegan or the vegetarian options to construct your own bowl. They are extremely tasty and very filling.

photo 2We are currently in the middle of the Six Nations Rugby Tournament, where people can come along to watch the matches on the big screen and indulge in some great food and drink. After the match there is a live band to entertain and carry on the party, to help you celebrate or commiserate the final score! It’s a great place to watch the rugby and we create a special atmosphere enjoyed by all who attend.

We love to host unique events. This April we host Live Immersive Theatre with musician Bobby Cole. He has written an original music score based on the sinking of the Titanic, named “The Queen Of The Ocean”.

The drama unfolds all around you and you experience the ill-fated journey as you are transported back to April 1912. The audience will enjoy the same five course meal as the passengers had in the first class dining saloon, on the night the ship sunk. On the screens around the venue will be enhanced film footage of the wreck site, monologues, survivor testimonies, eye witness accounts, performing waiters and so much more. It will truly be a unique experience.

We have a classic rock show showing soon, with lots of differents shows and events scheduled over the summer. Follow us on social media for the latest listings.

photo 3photo 4We are thrilled to announce that we are now ready to host weddings at The Hyst. We have already done one to test the waters - and that was my own wedding! It was so successful that we already have a few booked in even though we haven’t officially launched the service yet!

We can offer you ‘your wedding your way’, from start to finish at The Hyst. You can get married on the stage and to follow, whatever food you want - whether that’s a five course meal, hog roast, buffet. Whatever you want, we will source and provide it, and you can carry on the celebrations well into the evening. The Hyst is a one stop shop where we can make your dream event become reality. There is nothing we can’t do!”

We at emmaheaven.com we can most definitely testify to that statement. From launching the magazine there, to hosting our annual awards shows and parties, and The Hyst being the home of The LWA, they go above and beyond to provide a service which is second to none. Every request is met with an enthusiasm and professionalism which makes any event organised there an absolute pleasure from start to finish.
