In this monthly column, I’m going to write from a male’s perspective about the many and varied happenings in the world of fashion.
At no point will I tell you how to dress. I’ll just bring you the wonderful, colourful people who live and breathe fashion and style.
On a personal note, I do like to get dressed up and look smart when I have an event or night out - but I also love nothing more than my comfy chilling out clothes!
Every month I highlight profiles I believe will bring eclectic, awe-inspiring photos and happiness to your Instagram feed.
Connor is a barber and part time model who lives in Cardiff. He is keen on fashion, whisky and the finer things in life.
This is hands down one of the most stylish guys I have the privilege to say I know and am close to.
One worrying thing we have discovered whilst getting to know each other is just how similar we dress, but with some good communication and skill, any awkward “dressed like twins” situations are avoided.
Connor’s style is inspired by the likes of Mariano Di Vaio (Italian blogger, fashion designer, brand ambassador and actor), David Beckham and also the boss himself, Mr Gandy. Not bad choices if I do say so myself.
Im sure this dude will feature again throughout the coming months. He’s one stylish guy. After all, he keeps me on my toes as to how to dress.
So check this guy out on his instagram @connersherman_
Pinpoint the look:
- Leather Jacket.
- Ripped Jeans.
- Indy/Rockstar vibe.
Martell “Mr Flyy” Campbell
Martell is a fashion blogger and style expert from London. He truly puts a twist on the norm and pushes boundaries.
Martell has styled and collaborated with some of the UK’s biggest and best companies like Ben Sherman and Harrods. His website http://martellcampbell.com/ is a real visual treat, showcasing this guy’s talent and style.
When it comes to style this guy is seldom seen without some type of hat topping off his outfit - the icing on the cake! He often dresses down his smart look with accessories such as a scarf or a short sleeve tee as opposed to a shirt.
It’s good to be different.
Pinpoint the look:
- Classic hats.
- Neck scarfs.
- Rounded glasses.
Real Men Read
This month's book of choice is Fantastic Man: Men of Great Style and Substance, which is a compelling guide to building your life as a man based on some of the most charismatic, stylish, powerful and all round, trendsetting creative men.
It’s not your usual read from cover to cover kind of book - at a mighty 567 pages long - it’s one you’re more likely to dip into, like a reference book, as a source of knowledge, inspiration and ”represents the best of the magazine's archives, offering a fascinating portrait of contemporary men's style and a unique viewpoint on what defines masculinity in the 21st century.”
As befits a vast compilation, there's a style or attitude to suit every reader, so go grab a hardback copy, as it's one to keep close to hand on the shelf.
P.S. Take a browse at the Tom Ford section, I promise you won’t regret it!
P.P.S. Ladies need not feel too left out. They have a bi-annual, sister magazine publication The Gentlewoman showcasing women of glamour and style!
Exciting times, as the product which takes centre stage this month is a new suit. Every discerning gent around town - and country - needs a good suit. An imminent job interview was the the reason behind this acquisition.
So for variety and quality Moss Bros was my natural choice. As it is predominantly for work not leisure, I wanted something stylish, smart in appearance and timeless so it can be worn at a variety of occasions and events.
My weapon of choice was a navy two button blazer complete with matching trousers by French Connection. My reasoning behind this choice was that the colour is timeless and is flexible enough for all sorts of locations and occasions.
As for choosing French Connection, I find their tailoring suits my physique - big shoulders and large upper thighs - yet the suit still has a slim look fit to it, working with my frame perfectly.
I’m delighted to report that, other than having a dapper new suit in the wardrobe, I landed the job. Definitely a good return on my investment!

I like to sign off at the end of the month with a picture of one my favourite outfits I've worn recently.

I hope you find these tips, Insta-characters and products to be useful and you’ve enjoyed this month’s read.
