It's All About Me
Some people wear clothes because they have to. They get up, put something on and off they go.
I love the way clothes make me feel - the confidence they give me - the way they can reflect or transform my mood.
I think with age comes confidence - when you start to feel comfortable in your own skin - when you don’t really care what other people think - when you start to dress for you.
I want to live longer by being fit and healthy and looking after myself.
I care about my appearance and want to make the most of what Mother Nature gave me.
I have a lifelong interest in fashion and beauty and I surround myself with fabulous friends who have come with me on this incredible journey.
Life’s too short to not glam up and party and I want to share my passion for fashion with you... so welcome to my world.
The month started off with a visit to Hilary at Pimped Up Pins for an updo, for an event I was attending later that evening: ‘Purpose With Joy’ at The Village, Swansea.
I wanted the “I’ve just piled my hair on top of my head and came up with this fabulous creation!” Hilary didn’t disappoint. And neither did my outfit. I had so much ‘Joy’ from my fabulous Fendi Monster bag - he totally stole the show, with both Tara and Jenna trying to get a ‘selfie’ with him. Popular guy!
The following weekend I visited Quay 3 again for my ‘cheat meal’. They do the most fabulous fillet steak, and their sticky toffee pudding is to die for. The champagne flowed and to top off a great evening, Wales won the rugby.
During the week I had the pleasure of being invited to Coast Italia to see Mal Pope’s Cappuccino Girls. It is a fabulous show and a unique dining experience. I met the lovely Mal and had a few pictures taken with him and the cast. On a low note, I had to sit and watch my husband devour the Tapas and chocolate pudding as unfortunately it was midweek and not a ‘cheat meal’ day (denied)!
The show itself was wonderful - and you can read all about it in Destination #FH Avenue.
The following week I returned to Coast Italia. Having been virtuous and abstaining from their delicious food whilst watching Cappuccino Girls, I just had to go back there to have my ‘cheat meal’.
I went with the lasagne, garlic bread and Nutella cake, washed down with lots of prosecco. It was SO worth the wait!
Thank you Coast Italia. You always make us feel so welcome and feed us wonderful food. Mille grazie!
A few days later I had a catch up with an old friend Beverley Petts. Bev has recently opened a fruit and vegetable shop on Llangyfelach Road, in Treboeth Swansea. It is doing incredibly well - you can read more about it and all about my visit there in Destination #FH Avenue. It was so lovely to see her and her business doing so well.
The end of the week soon arrived, and it was time for a video shoot with my personal trainer Tara Hammett.
Not only does she work my butt off during the week, we are now mixing business with pleasure.
Drum roll please... ta-da! In an online exclusive, I’m thrilled to announce that www.EmmaHeaven.com is joining forces with Tara Hammett to launch “The ‘F’ Factor”. For Tara the ‘F’ is for fitness; for me the ‘F’ is for fashion. Both go hand in hand - or is that hand in (fur-lined boxing) glove...?!
As I always say, “There’s no point having a fabulous body if you don’t know how to dress it. And there’s no point having beautiful clothes if the body you put them on doesn’t make them look fabulous!”
With this in mind we have started shooting mini videos which will be published on Facebook. They will give you lots of tips, ideas and programmes designed to help you achieve The ‘F’ Factor. Keep your eyes peeled and look out for more details of some fabulous events coming soon!
The next day was a visit to Irresistible Beauty for a manicure in preparation for my monthly photo/video shoot.
I had the pleasure of the lovely Tara to tend to my talons! She started with a lovely deep pinky/red, base colour ‘Lady Baroness’, and topped off the tips of the nails with a sparkly iridescent red glitter. It looked glamorous and fierce.
The theme for this month’s photo/video shoot was ‘Sentimental’ in memory of my father. This was a strange and difficult shoot as I wanted the video to be perfect and special. I want to thank Adrian, Jenna and Hilary for their support and help in making me smile, laugh and in keeping my spirits up. You can see the stunning photos Adrian took in Love It! Rock It! Own It! I also want to thank Rhys Warlow for making the most beautiful and sentimental video which I will treasure always.
“I dedicated this very special video to a very special man”.
You can watch ‘Sentimental’ in Lights...Camera...Action...
Until next time...
Don’t be a stranger...
