August Inspiration Board
This month’s board shows my quest to find the ultimate ‘sweet treat’. I love nothing more than to sit down with either a pile of magazines to devour, or do a spot of online shopping, with a cup of tea and a little sweet treat.
This quest had me searching high and low for some tasty treats; followed by the arduous task of having to test and taste them all - well it would be rude not to.

Fancy something sweet without sabotaging your goals? Try these little flavour bombs, guilt-free and easy to make.
Cinnamon Apple Crisps
Thinly slice 1 Bramley apple.
Coat with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Bake in pre-heated oven at approximately 180 degrees centigrade for 15 minutes.
Flip them all over and cook for a further 10-12 minutes.
Who said eating healthy had to be boring?
Eat amazing .... because you ARE!

What's your ‘thing’ you could NEVER give up?
Well... you say you could never give up.
I was chatting in the gym recently with a lady who had had a knee replacement and she was worried about putting on weight. She lost 2 stone before the operation, but was now scared it would all pile on because she can't do the exercise she once could... yet... she also said she had given up chocolate and hadn't eaten any for almost 2 years... but she could NEVER give up cheese.
So we got chatting about how brilliant she had already done with her changes.
I gave her some advice to encourage her to look after herself over the next few weeks and not to push the exercise whilst she recovered.
We talked about nutrition and the best thing to do to keep her overall calories down whilst she's not exercising so much, and that she's proved that she can do anything she puts her mind to.
Just like you .
If you want something so much - you can get it.
If something means so much to you... you WILL make sacrifices.
If you really do care so much about achieving something, but you had to give something up... you would do it.
What have YOU struggled with?
‘Knowledge is power’
One of the best tools for breaking old habits is an action plan:
- When I feel stressed and reach for the ........... I will do .........
- When I have a long day ahead of me I will ......... to make sure I stay on track.
Also make a list of the pros and cons for the changes you want to implement:
- When I am .......lbs lighter, I will be able to walk up the stairs and not get out of breath.
- When I can run for ......minutes, I will enter my first 5k run.
You get the idea. Take a little time out and work on yourself. Get yourself some paper and think about the above.
Think of the excuses you use to prevent you getting to your goal, to being happy.
It takes small steps, a plan of action and commitment.

Work towards the body of your dreams

Do you have the confidence to go naked?
Yes, I’m back to share with you some more skincare do’s and don'ts, and how to get our skin in tip top condition so we can bare all and have the confidence to go totally naked.
Wouldn't it be great if we could jump out of bed in the morning and head out to the gym without so much as a tinted moisturiser on?! Well if we can ditch the latest, gimmicky skincare products out there and start using some good, basic and decent skin care then maybe, just maybe, we can.
I advise on skin care every day, so you can trust me to know what I'm talking about.
We need to start by taking care of our skin from within too. Energy drinks, a few cigarettes to combat the stresses of work, some chocolates and a muffin due to the emotional roller coaster of the latest heartbreak, or not removing last night’s makeup because those (dreaded) wipes weren’t on the bedside table, will not give you the best of bases to start from.
So please start looking after your skin and it will repay you by looking good for you!
Skin Care Do’s & Don’ts
Do: You MUST apply SPF. It is summer or at least it’s supposed to be summer! Although a few of us will pop an SPF on, we ALL of us need to be applying SPF every single day, ALL YEAR ROUND. The sun is the biggest ageing factor for our skin. Yes you can buy make up with it already built in, however if you want proper protection it really needs to be a separate product, and one which gives the best protection possible.
Don’t: I often have to talk to my clients about exfoliators and scrubs. Sorry to burst the bubble, but I’m not a fan of these products. “I know, let's take some bits that resemble sand, put them in a bit of cream, and scrub our faces so they are red and tingly.” That sounds like a great idea. Afraid not! Our skin is very clever at naturally exfoliating when it's ready to do so... Scrubbing it to within an inch of its life will make it red, irritated and even more sensitive to the environment, sun and other products.
