It's All About Me
Some people wear clothes because they have to. They get up, put something on and off they go.
I love the way clothes make me feel - the confidence they give me - the way they can reflect or transform my mood.
I think with age comes confidence - when you start to feel comfortable in your own skin - when you don’t really care what other people think - when you start to dress for you.
I want to live longer by being fit and healthy and looking after myself.
I care about my appearance and want to make the most of what Mother Nature gave me.
I have a lifelong interest in fashion and beauty and I surround myself with fabulous friends who have come with me on this incredible journey.
Life’s too short to not glam up and party and I want to share my passion for fashion with you... so welcome to my world.
The month kicked off with my very first ‘Fashionista Masterclass’. This was especially for four lovely ladies from Tara Hammett’s ‘Taransformer’ Programmes. We ran a competition for the most inspiring posts within Tara’s groups and I picked Chelly Reynolds, Becky Jayne Deakin, Rachel Stanley and Gemma Morris.
The ladies were given a masterclass in how to think, shop and dress like a true fashionista. I shared with them all my fashion and beauty tips, including the ’secret weapons’ I use to make sure I am the best possible version of me!
The masterclass was held at The Dragon Hotel, Swansea, and was a great success. I cannot wait to launch the ‘Fashionista Masterclass’ to all of Tara’s ‘Taransformers’ in May. This ties in well with us launching The ‘F’ Factor. Please keep following us both on Facebook for more details coming soon.
The following week I made my first visit to The Grove Skin Clinic in Gowerton where I met the lovely and very knowledgable Jodie Grove.
Jodie took the time to tell me all about the specialist skin care products she stocks and we discussed which would be the most suitable for my skin type. Old and getting way too wrinkly for my liking...!
She also took me through the facial menu, telling me about each facial, what would happen and what results I could expect. Now being a complete and utter baby, I opted for an entirely pain-free facial, the Environ Power Collagen Boost Facial and booked a course of six.
I will be telling you all about my experience at The Grove Skin Clinic and sharing with you the results of these fabulous facials in the next issue, so make sure you don’t miss it!
That same week my personal trainer Tara decided it was time I experienced a bag class at Funky Pump Swansea. I must say I lost sleep in the days running up to it. Nervous? Just a little bit!
How did I get on? Let’s just say I survived!
I forgot to take my asthma inhaler and my chest made the most unbelievable noises I had ever heard it make! Thankfully after a few hours of some indelicate rattling noises my breathing started to get back to something resembling normality!
To anyone out there who does this class several times a week, every week - I take my hat off to you - it’s fast, furious and fun.
The rest of my training is going really well. I have so much fun with Tara - she really works my backside off! I am almost at the end of my 16 week programme and can’t wait to share the results with you in the next issue.
The following week and another visit to The Dragon Hotel. This time to do a photoshoot with six lovely ladies who had just finished the 12 week ‘Life Taransformer’ programme with Tara.
It was a fun afternoon as we put the ladies through their paces in front of the camera. It was great to see how much confidence they had gained being on the programme and the positive changes to their lives.
Later that week I had my hair extensions removed by the lovely Sophie Watkins and in preparation for Hilary at Pimped Up Pins to colour and trim my hair; to be followed by replacement hair extensions a week later. It’s always a relief having them put in - I feel as if I have no hair without them!
During the week I met up with the charismatic Richard Jones of Moda on The Kingsway, Swansea. He told me all about how he built his business and the beautiful Moda shop which you can read all about in Destination #FH Avenue.
Next up, a visit to Irresistible Beauty to have my nails done for my photoshoot. I was thrilled to find Rebecca Clark had returned from travelling the world and back at the salon. Cue lots of catching up and non-stop talking! I was exhausted by the time I left, but my nails looked fabulous.
This month’s shoot is about ‘Springtime’ and the star of the show is my amazing handbag. It was made for me by the super talented Timmy Woods of Beverly Hills. She even added extra crystals to the bag when I told her all about the special photo shoot we had planned.
Thank you Timmy - it looked incredible and it’s such an honour to be the proud owner of this one-of-a kind handbag. I will treasure it always. It is centre stage and a delightful addition to my ever growing collection of these stunning handbags created by Timmy. You can read all about her in Destination #FH Avenue, see the stunning photos in Love It! Rock It! Own It! AND watch the fabulous video of the shoot in Lights...Camera...Action...
The shoot was so much fun, especially with the 3,000 silk rose petals which Hilary and Jenna showered me with like confetti - they were like big kids!
And last but by no means least, thanks to the Cross Stitch Bitch for the fabulous present she sent me after I told her about my first internet troll! Me? Self indulgent? - Never! I still can’t stop laughing! One in the eye to the keyboard warriors out there! Check out her hilarious stitch below.
Until next time...
Don’t be a stranger...
