**Star**

We’ve all got that ‘star’ inside of us, waiting to burst out and shine brightly.

That luminous, sparkling, twinkling, powerful light that needs to break through the surface and dazzle the world with just how fabulous we are and how bright we can shine.

When I had this shoot in mind, I was thinking beautiful, twinkly, sparkling crystals and glitter, reminiscent of festivals. You know the look. Pretty, eye catching and very, very girly.

I don’t know how she read the ‘star’ brief, however the uber-talented Beth had other ideas. Pretty and ‘cutesy pie’ aren’t really in her remit, especially when I encourage her to let her imagination run riot!

When I said I wanted stars bursting out of my skin, she interpreted that to not only have stars bursting out of it, but ripping it off too...Not quite the pretty, girly scenario I had first pictured; more of a macabre and gruesome storyline which she could get her teeth (or are they fangs?!) stuck into.

Out came the SFX makeup, including fake blood, plus glitter, paint, latex and tweezers. Safe to say, that there’s NEVER a dull or beige moment with #TeamHeaven!

Thankfully Hilary kept my hair looking (relatively) normal, however, when that gal is given access to a can of glitter hairspray, let’s just say the concept of ‘less is more’ goes out of the window! Ventilation dahhhlings - safety first! So once again I was asphyxiated in a cloud of glitter.

Outrageous makeup? ✔️
Sparkly hair? ✔️
One fabulous holographic jacket? ✔️
Star-spangled glamour? ✔️✔️✔️ absolutely!

And so, a star is born...
