‘Knowledge is power’

As I write this it is my due day.

40 weeks and Baby Deaks should be showing his little face.

Pregnancy has been an incredible learning journey.

Much of what I do is inspiring people not only to change their habits to improve their body, health & fitness, but also to improve their mindset.

Once your head is in the game, you’ve got a much better chance of enjoying the journey of change.

There have been times when I’ve felt emotional, irrational, tired, like I’ve made a big mistake, that I’m not going to be good enough, then I’ll wake up the next morning and think ‘WTF was that about Tar?’

It’s not easy.

Making a baby is a miracle...but a massive sacrifice too.

I say this knowing...the most challenging part is still on its way for me.

Birth and being a Mummy.

Life will never be the same again...but for the best reasons ever.

Some things I learned over the last 9 months.
(And these tips I would recommend for everyone, not just when you’re preggers).

TALK

Throughout my journey I’ve been so lucky to have some of my closest friends and sister-in-law doing it together. It’s been awesome to rant, ask questions and have little chats with someone who is feeling just the same. If you need to let off steam - talk, get it out in the open - you’ll always feel better.

GET SUPPORT

Doing this means team effort, not only is it good to speak to your Mum, your friends or your midwife...talk with your partner. We both need support at this time and talking with each other as a team should be top of your list.

Before you get grumpy, angry or argue, when you’re both together sitting, chatting, having dinner, bring feelings up and talk about them. Listen to each other – we can’t guess what the other is feeling and having a nice conversation with each other will help you rather than feeling hard done by.

TAKE TIME OUT

Throughout my pregnancy I’ve tried to fight the tiredness.

I’m busy – like us all – I have a business to run...I haven’t got time to fall asleep for two hours in the afternoon.

But creating a baby is exhausting and it was only towards the end that I really accepted that I needed to get my priorities right.

If things are late, not done or you have to ask someone to do them for you...so be it. Your health and energy are way more important.

Throughout my journey I’ve logged my growth, feelings & progress in the TARAnsformums group. A free group where I not only shared my experience but also received overwhelming support from a group of fabulous girls who have been there before and helped with their tips, advice, support, encouragement and kindness.

If you would like to join in it’s totally free

If you would like to start a family, are pregnant or already have a family join in. I’d love to hear from you and continue the support.

The next part of my posts in there will be when we’re the other side.

GULP

Let’s hope all my mindset knowledge gives me the power through childbirth.

See you the other side...

Love
