Feed Me

In a new feature, welcome to your (first) monthly slice of #FoodHeaven: Feed Me.

The column where I - Christie Heaven, will be filling my face with the most mouthwatering treats that South Wales has to offer. What a trooper eh, taking one for the #TeamHeaven?!

Our first stop this month? Burgers. Yes that’s right, the mother of all temptations, the ultimate cheat treat and boy, do we have a show stopper of a whopper for you. We’re not talking some flat stack, pancake-thin cheeseburger here, this is the Six Nations’ French Burger from Fat Yankees.

I tucked into a double dosage of succulent chicken breasts, slathered in garlic butter, and smothered with an unholy yet heavenly trinity of melted cheese combo delight: cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan. #SayCheese #SayFromage

That’s when we truly dive into French territory: salad of the lettuce, onion and tomato variety, juicy grilled mushrooms and a layer of peppered ham coated in an aioli sauce. Taking it to Eiffel Tower heights was a crisp garlic crouton and there it was, a masterpiece worthy of the Louvre itself. And enough to make even the Mona Lisa break into a smile!

Words alone cannot express how good this burger is. The chicken, cheese and garlic were a perfect match and it tasted as fiendishly good as it looked, not to mention the smell of it being cooked was dreamy. You know what you need to do now? Say “au revoir” to that pitiful sandwich you have for lunch and say “bonjour, oui oui monsieur” to this monstrous burger of deliciousness! Win, lose or draw, you have to celebrate the Six Nations in style! This SCRUMptious burger will hit the spot without TRYing...

Head on over to Fat Yankee at 21A Woodfield Street, Morriston, SA6 8QA or find some more of their delicious food at No.6 in Swansea SA1 3LW.
