**What’s in my Wardrobe**

This month we’re off to the Oscars!

I love the awards season on the red carpet. To see all the stars dressed to perfection in their gorgeous outfits - and some of the ladies’ controversial gown choices!

It’s a great source for ideas and inspiration for any parties or events you might have in your diary.

This was a fantastic opportunity to go full out on the glamour and roll out the red carpet - which we did!

I chose a gorgeous long white ‘Grecian’ style dress. Crafted from feather-light chiffon in a fresh white hue, wide crossover straps and cut outs cleverly placed to define the waist, with a beautiful open back.

I accessorised this Grecian gown with gold statement cuffs which resembled coral.

And to tie the whole outfit together, I wore beautiful white and gold wedge-heeled shoes, trimmed with a thick gold chain.

NailsNails: Jess from Irresistible Beauty did a simple yet effective French manicure, which looked elegant and classy, complementing the dress perfectly.

**Hil-hair-ious styling**

“Ola”

Hil hair ious style

Emma’s brief this month was the Oscars.

I created a soft ‘updo’ which can easily be replicated on your own hair with minimal effort.

Take large sections, curling your hair with a wand and gently brush out.

Starting at the parting, twist the hair loosely in an upwards direction, adding hair from the bottom and twist towards the opposite side, behind the ear to create your side curl.

Secure with a small band.

Repeat on the other side and join the two twists together with a second band. This will produce a ponytail on the side.

Above the band, split the hair making it big enough to pick the ponytail up and pull through the hole so the curls fall on the shoulder.

Pin in place.

Complete the look with hair accessories of your choice.

I used crystal necklaces, draping them gently in Emma’s hair, to create a dazzling headband effect!

**’Jenna-rate’ the look**

Jenna KellyI always knew I'd be at the Oscars one day!

I was sooooo excited when Emma told me the theme for this month’s shoot was the Oscars and that I had full control over the look! She didn't want to know anything about the whole glam look until she looked in the mirror. Emma sent me a pic of her gorgeous white Grecian gown...and I instantly thought “red carpet smoky glam.” Subtle enough for Julianne Moore; dramatic enough for J Lo!

Jenna rate eyesEyes: I always start with the eyes. I applied my favourite concealer of the moment, all over the lid and under-eye area to prep - Dior Nude Concealer - a hydrating formula that doesn't crease or turn grey half way through the day. Best of all it photographs beautifully.

Brows are then structured with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, giving them a more ‘filled in’ look to hold their shape under the lights and flash - and, back to the concealer - I used the excess on the brush to tidy and sharpen the edges of the brows.

Moving on to the shadow. As you'll see in the video, because I wanted this look to be smokey and blended with really lovely soft edges...it looked quite messy! To achieve this look I used lots and lots of layers of shadows from burgundy and caramel matt edges, to a metallic bronze lid. This, combined with the over buffing of product means loads of drop down beneath the eye. But - do not panic - this all gets cleaned up once the area is finished!

A little dark brown kohl liner in the waterline of Emma's eyes, some mascara and my favourite Ardell Wispie lashes and the eyes are complete. Smoldering!!!

Jenna rate complexionComplexion: As the eyes are again the feature of this dramatic look, it’s important to have a full coverage skin. We used Mac Face and Body foundation to first prep the skin and give a hydrating sheer coverage base, before going in with full coverage cream formulas where needed to create highlight, and structure to Emma's already wonderfully high cheekbones! (I know... she’s very lucky... don't hate her too much!)

I used a translucent powder to set the entire look, before adding to the sculpting with a matte ashy-toned bronzer, an apricot-based blush, and the wonderful Mac Soft & Gentle highlighting powder to give a wonderful glow.

Lips: One of my very favourite lipsticks at the moment is "Eva's Nude" from L'Oreal... it’s such good value for money and gives the most stunning beige nude colour. We used this to give Emma's look the final touch - a nude lip to complement a smoky bronze eye and to add to the Mediterranean look I was going for... inspired by her beautiful white gown.

My tip of the month: Don't be afraid to warm it up during the winter months! Sometimes the weather can make us feel that we need cool tones and a pale complexion. Well I for one dislike being pale. Nothing makes me feel more glam than a bronzy glowing look, paired with a little black dress! Warm your skin, shadows and even your lips - and a little self tan never harmed anyone - to brighten your winter nights!

**A Heavenly Hint**

Quest Bars. They are delicious and convenient - a high-protein/low-carb candy bar - while maintaining all of the nutrition of a carefully prepared ‘meal’.

And my hint? Pop them under the grill for 1-2 minutes.

This turns them into a ‘droolworthy warm cookie.

Highly addictive - you have been warned!

Available from www.hollandandbarrett.com, and all good health food stores.

**A Heavenly Treat**

Treat your body to the most awesome body scrub by Walford-Richards Designs.

This is inspired by Amber Oud and Black Pepper with added Rose, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang oils.

Take bath/shower time to another level as you slather on this delicious body scrub which will leave your body feeling smooth with a fresh, spicy zing.
